Finding the right signal-caller is all about balancing positional opportunity cost with pure, matchup-winning ceiling.
Every draft season, the quarterback position presents the same debate: do you burn an early-round pick on a dual-threat superstar who guarantees a massive weekly floor? Or do you throw a dart on a late-round option that could be a difference maker for your lineup if they hit, like Drake Maye in 2025?
Whether you’re hunting for high-volume Konami Code runners, stable late-round pocket passers, or dynamic sophomore breakout candidates, targeting the right tier at the right price tag is how you gain ultimate leverage over the rest of your league. Let’s dive in to the latest QB rankings update!

The Top QBs To Draft In Fantasy Football
Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
It’s going to be very tempting to go the late-round QB route for fantasy football managers this season, but Allen is quite simply a cheat code at the position that demands he be viewed at the top of the rankings for yet another year.

For fantasy football, the opportunities in the red zone are what convert to true week-winning points. This means the chance to be able to punch the ball in for a touchdown and if a QB can do that routinely, they have a dramatic leg up on QBs that have to make up for those points in yardage and passing touchdowns.
We have to go back to 2019 for the last time that Allen did not finish within the top-two QBs for the most rush attempts inside the 5-yard line. That type of opportunity is quite simply too good to pass by with one of the first QB picks.
He’s a fantastic NFL player and an unstoppable fantasy football asset. He’s worthy of being drafted as the top QB again in 2026.
Malik Willis, Miami Dolphins
The value that a rushing QB brings cannot be overstated for fantasy football. The high floor, the upside, the excitement in watching them…it all goes together to create a very solid fantasy QB.
Add in the fact that a QB like that is going off the board well past the top 12 at the position and we have a very intriguing player to keep our eye on going into drafts this year.
Willis is a dynamic rushing threat. He has been since he was coming out of college at Liberty. However, his passing work needed significant improvement and that’s ultimately what lost him his starting opportunities in the NFL.
The past little bit at Green Bay was obviously incredibly helpful for his development though as he showcased what he could do in his limited starts last season.
It’s an incredibly small sample size of just 47 drop backs in 2025, but Willis led all QBs with a 13.8% Completion Percent Over Expected, according to NextGen Stats. The next closest was Drake Maye with 9.1% on 601 drop backs.
Now, heading into 2026 with the Miami Dolphins, there are question marks surrounding Willis’ pass catchers and how much that will affect him. The answer is most likely that it will hold him back from being a top-five option at the position, but that’s not what you’re expecting when you draft a player at QB20 off the board.
Willis’ rushing upside, especially with his work in the red zone, makes him a priority target for me if I decided to wait on QB and need an option later on in drafts. I wouldn’t be shocked if we get to the end of the year and he outperformed his ADP by a drastic margin.
