The past month and a half have been absolute chaos for the fantasy football landscape with NFL Free Agency and then the 2026 NFL Draft.
The way things were at the end of last season are certainly not the way that they are now as we head into the quietest part of the NFL offseason, but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be paying attention to how things have shifted.
This is the time to get ahead of the rest of your league, so with that in mind, here are how the WR rankings are shaping up as we head into May.

The Top Wide Receivers To Target In Fantasy Football
Luther Burden, WR, Chicago Bears
The ADP (Average Draft Position) for Luther Burden could very quickly get out of control as the hype for him continues to build, but I may be willing to continue to follow it.
Burden’s chemistry with Caleb Williams started to really click at the tail end of last season and into the playoffs, which bodes well for his fantasy outlook going into 2026. He truly stepped into a larger role in the offense and proved that he can absolutely be a WR1 for a NFL team.
DJ Moore is no longer a member of the Chicago Bears and that’s going to open up the pathway for Burden to step into the WR1 role for this unit.
He’s a player I’m circling going into every single draft I’m in this year.
Emeka Egbuka, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It was a glorious start to his rookie campaign last year, as Egbuka was the WR3 in fantasy football from Weeks 1-5 with an astronomical 18.0 Half PPR points per game average.
Unfortunately, Egbuka’s second half of the season was an utter train wreck as he dealt with injury and the wheels of the Bucs offense fell dramatically apart. From Weeks 6-17, Egbuka was the WR43 in fantasy football and averaging just 6.6 fantasy points per contest.
A hamstring injury that he suffered in Week 6 could very well be the cause for why Egbuka’s production tailed off. Additionally, Baker Mayfield got banged up around the same time too and the offensive structure had no answers for where to pivot when things went stale.
If Egbuka had a slow start to his rookie year, but ended his season with that type of run, we’d be ranking him easily inside the top 10 at the WR position for 2026. However, recency bias is greatly affecting people’s perception of the dynamic receiving threat and he’s being drafted routinely outside of the top 24 right now.
With Mike Evans gone now, there’s no reason to believe that Egbuka can’t return value on his ADP – and potentially get back to producing like he did right out of the gate last season.
